When I was first diagnosed with lymphoma, Robin was there right from the start. She listened emphatically to me as I was in tears, not knowing where to turn. I felt comforted and supported by Robin. She is a great listener and provided me with relevant information, as I had a ton of questions for her. I had already embarked on a holistic natural path and was now turning to conventional medicine to support my treatment, and Robin helped me feel confident in whichever path I chose. She supported me through phone calls, text messages and emails. Before and after every treatment Robin was there, sending me messages of encouragement. I always felt like I had someone there right by my side. Robin sent me messages of hope and inspiration. Even though I lived miles away I still felt like Robin was close by. I texted her when I felt scared or discouraged and Robin always responded so quickly and eased my mind, she was someone who really understood what I was going through. Robin was a wealth of knowledge, and was able to provide many resources that helped my journey to recovery. I am so thankful that I had Robin on this journey right alongside with me! The support was so important to me; Robin was someone who really understood what I was going through. Cheryl, Alberta (Lymphoma)
Robin was recommended to me by a friend.. and I can't thank her enough for telling me. Robin was a true professional and provided me with the comfort to know that i was not alone in my feelings. I did not have time to make an appointment and Robin let me have a phone appointment. I felt so much better and I had some good strategies on how to better face my husband's condition and how to handle some difficult conversations. Michelle, Kitchener Ontario (Liver) - caregiver Support can come in many forms.... Michelle contacted me feeling an urgency to talk to someone about the challenges she was facing as a caregiver. She called me from her car in a grocery store parking lot so that she could have some privacy away from home.
Robin’s own journey with cancer gives her insight into the experience of being a cancer patient, and her training in cancer care and cancer services makes her a valuable advocate and guide for individuals navigating their own cancer journey. Robin also understands that each individual’s cancer journey is unique, and she listens carefully and is respectful of each person’s needs and questions. Central to Robin’s philosophy of cancer care is the idea that no cancer patient walks alone. Robin offers her experience and her training to others on the journey; she is both a compassionate and a knowledgeable companion to have walking by your side. Dana, Waterloo Ontario (Primary Peritoneal Carcenoma)
I met Robin several years ago at a lymphoma support group. I was looking for a place where I could be educated about my cancer and find emotional well being. Robin was a member of the executive of the group. She showed interest in my personal journey. As a cancer survivor herself, Robin has insight as to what others may be going through. Because of her knowledge and personal experience, she has been an invaluable resource and support. Over the past several years, Robin has continued to be involved in the cancer community in a variety of ways. She has seized many opportunities to work with cancer patients in order to assist them on their journey and has pursued formal education through accredited programs. As a facilitator, Robin presents information sessions on a variety of well researched topics which are easy to follow and understand. She is always interested in the journey of individuals and shows great compassion. Marg, Waterloo Ontario (Lymphoma)
