As a Certified Professional Cancer Coach trained by the Professional Cancer Coaches Institute (PCCI) I am equipped to help you using evidence based integrative applications in oncology.
As a Patient Support and Development Consultant for Lymphoma Canada I developed a cancer support and education course and several workshops to help patients and caregivers cope with their cancer experience. I developed their Peer Mentorship program designed to facilitate matches between newly diagnosed patients and patients with a similar diagnosis.
As a Patient and Volunteer Coordinator for HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre, I developed and facilitated patient support groups, assisted patients with wig and camisole fittings and offered one to one support to patients and caregivers.
As a Virtues Project Facilitator I helped individuals (cancer patients, parents, children, educators and corporate teams) use the 5 Strategies of the Virtues Project to bring out the best in themselves and others. It was these 5 strategies that provided the framework for "the mental management" of my own diagnosis.
As an Early Childhood Education Consultant I helped families and educators understand and manage the social, emotional and behavioural needs of young children. These skills were put to good use as I helped my own children cope during my treatments. They asked the hard questions. I gave them answers, fitting for their age, to help them understand cancer and it's affects on the family.
I have not only experienced the reality of cancer myself, but I have also worked hard to understand the needs of others affected by a cancer diagnosis. I am here to help you too!
